Alaïa Alaia Paris

Alaïa by Alaia Paris is a Leather fragrance for women. Alaïa was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is Marie Salamagne. Top notes are Pink Pepper and Mountain Air; middle notes are Peony, Freesia and Rose; base notes are Leather, Violet and White Musk.
Alaïa EDP available at a price 10 EUR/ml.
The scent is based on the contrast of cool tones, such as red pepper, and oriental, hot flavors, like musk. The composition is signed by perfumer Marie Salamagne. It opens with airy notes and pink pepper. Middle notes include freesia and peony flowers, placed at the base of animalistic tones and musk.
It starts off very fresh; there are air accords here, although to be honest, I don’t really know what that exactly means. To me, it smells fresh like – yes, like laundry dried in the air, but that doesn’t last long, as soon floral notes join in, which must be freesia, those lovely little flowers that come in so many colors and smell delightful, I just really like them. Yes, it really and truly smells like freesias, a particularly floral accord, and so pure and clean that it is a joy.
A tiny bit of sweetness comes in at the end, which might be from the musk note, but it’s not a problem since it’s very subtle.
In any case, it ends with a light spiciness, almost like a men’s fragrance, a bit leathery, it’s like a night lamp that lights up the garden when darkness falls. You await her every evening, in her black dress and deliberate walk, leading you into her world… far from the others!
Fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa enters the world of perfumes under the license of Beaute Prestige International and launches his first fragrance Alaïa. The fragrance is inspired by the designer’s memories of childhood spent in Tunisia like water poured over hot brick walls.
“My perfume is not reasonable — it makes time lie. I dreamed of it like an archaeologist dreams of sculptures from antiquity lying at the bottom of the sea for millennia, sculptures of perfect bodies, matched only by the women of today — an ideal and timeless beauty.”
Oriental bottle design is signed by Martin Szekely. The face of the perfume is Guinevere Van Seenus, photographed by Roversi.
