Daniel Jouvance
Daniel Jouvance is a French cosmetics company founded in 1980 by Daniel Rocher, son of Yves Rocher, founder of the famous Groupe Rocher. The company specialized in marine-based skincare products and operated as a subsidiary of a larger family-owned group with a focus on “marine cosmetics”. The brand took advantage of the natural resources and access to the ocean in the Brittany region of France, where a research and seaweed cultivation center known as L’Éclosarium was opened on the island of Ouarzazate.
The brand was an integral part of Groupe Rocher, a family-owned global cosmetics and clothing company that owns several other brands, including Yves Rocher, Arbonne and Petit Bateau. Daniel Rocher is the main shareholder of Groupe Rocher. The “Daniel Jouvance” trademark is owned by ROCHER PARTICIPATIONS.
The Daniel Jouvance Foundation was also created, which focuses on marine biology research and conservation efforts, such as the adoption of a whale named Sedna and the organization of international marine biology schools in collaboration with universities.
The Daniel Jouvance brand continued until 2021, after which its activities appear to have ceased or been fully integrated into other parts of Groupe Rocher. The brand’s products are no longer actively marketed under the original name, although alternative products from other brands are sometimes recommended in place of older Daniel Jouvance products.
Products include moisturizers, anti-aging serums, body oils, shower gels, and various perfumes.
The brand has released numerous fragrances for both women and men, including some notable perfumes including Gaia and Ecume Océane.
